Sliding Doors - Alternative Outcomes
I am sure, like me, you often play through in your mind the “what-if” scenario. Or “if only I…” Or the wider extent, as in the film Sliding Doors, the possible implications of missing a train. It is a very interesting movie showing two alternate stories that have two very different outcomes…
Yes, that is fiction and good entertainment which allows the grey stuff up top to re-churn the “what-if “ and “if only I” statements. The thing is, at the time, all of us make the decisions we feel are right at that moment. Some things we decide we can almost 100% guarantee the outcome and so no issues arise. We place our past knowledge, experiences and results to forward project a future outcome. Great if the outcome is what you want, need or require.
However, what if your outcomes are not what you expect? Or you’re so wrapped up in your past that the wording “history repeats” keeps shouting at you? How many times would this have to happen before you decide enough is enough? Or do you just accept that’s the way it’s going to be?
I, like so many, was in that loop many years ago, until discovering more about me that I could ever imagine possible. Once you start on the road of self-discovery the results can be amazing, not just for you but also for those around you. I make no apologies for saying how having a personal coach can make that difference, and that is not a sales pitch! Coaching really does work, shifting your thinking, blowing away past cobwebs and enabling you to be the best, even if you do miss the train occasionally!
